Validity

In order to confirm the validity of your Student ID, the validity date must be printed on the back of the card. The date is only used for student discounts and is not relevant at our university.

Please do not remove the old date on your student ID. The card might get damaged.

Multifunctional Chipcard System

vorderseite_chipkarte_kleinThe HDU is one of the first universities of applied sciences in Bavaria to use a multifunctional chipcard system. The system is equipped with a non-contact LEGIC chip. With this chipcard, which functions simultaneously as a public employee ID and/or student ID, users can keep track of the time worked or manage access control as well as make cashless transactions in the cafeteria, café and Copy Shop (at registers and various automatic machines). The cards are delivered blank and are personalized directly at the HDU. Most recently, the system has been extended to include the component "student administration."

In order to support the student administration, the newest version of Schomäcker's UNIMAXX system is linked with the SOSPOS data bank via an ODBC interface. In an easy to use card manager, the cards, created as a data set and equipped with a personal ID, are linked with the student data through both the matriculation number and interface. As a result of the fact that cards and student databases are separate, the production of additional cards (e.g. employee or library ID cards) is possible without any problems.

Two terminals, which students can use to comfortably manage items relating to administration as well as carry out other various transactions, are located in close proximity to the Student Administration Office. These two terminals help to reduce the load of work in the Student Administration Office by allowing students to carry out tasks themselves such as changing their address, renewing matriculation (registration), printing out certificates/letters of confirmation, etcetera. At the same time, passwords for the Online-Portal, email system as well as access to the computer network can be reset at these terminals. Tuition fees are debited at the same time the renewal of registration is carried out. Library and printing fees can also be paid at these terminals. Cash clearing, however, is done by the Studentwerk Niederbayern/Oberpfalz.

In addition, fees for the ISIC identification card, language courses and offers from Career Services can be paid at one of these two terminals.

Data Protection

  • The HIS server is protected from external access
  • Data exchange between the user software (UNIMAXX) and HIS programs is possible via a defined interface. Therefore, direct access to the database is not possible.
