SWS /ECTS
The amount of time needed each semester for courses that students take at the Deggendorf University of Applied Sciences are measured in Hours/Week/Semester with the possible number of credit points that can be obtained listed in ECTS credit points.
Hours/Week/Semester (SWS)
One SWS describes the amount of time that a students needs for a course each semester. The number, e.g. „1 SWS“, means that the respective lecture was 45 minutes each week for the duration of the semester.
European Credit Transfer System (ECTS)
These are credit points which are to ensure that the work students do for a course is comparable to that required by other European universities and also to ensure that credit points will be accepted when transferring from one university to another (also internationally.
